Brief Shashmakom History

High art of "Shashmakom" has deeply penetrated into life and a life of our grandfathers and fathers. Names of outstanding executors of art "Shashmakom" in which we sincerely are proud and are known as:

Levy Bobohanov, Josefy Gurg, Boruhi Kalahok, Ota Jalol, Usto Shody, Bobookul-Aka Faizulloev, Shohnazar Sohibov, Fazlidin Shahobov, Joracha Karminagy, Mikhoel-Isroel-Gavriel Tolmasov's, Mikhoel-Gavriel Mullokandov's, Boruhi Zirky, Yunus Radjaby and his sons, Neriye Aminov and his sons, Barno Is'hakova and many others.

As the purpose of this Fund is to keep, develop and propagandize among young age of our traditional classical music. In the first in New-York, Roshel Amin, the continuer of an affair of the father, the son of the great expert and the incomparable executor of all six volumes "Shashmakom", on traditional system of training Ustod-Shogird (Teacher - pupil), for all comers of any age, on studying structure and all subtleties of this art,
thus classes: singing, playing the tanbur, sato, rubob, chang, doira, and in future will be open classes for piano and a violin.


Shashmakom

"SHASHMAKOM" - A musical phenomenon final generated by the end of 28th. Century in Bukhara as six volumes-cyclic products. The word "SHASHMAKOM" of the Tadjik-Arabian comes from, "Shash" - which means six in Tadjik, and "Makom" means place. It has come in musical value the signature stamp of a musical instrument that has originally risen as musical art of Tadjiks. In the past twenty to thirty years the only language that shashmakom isn't sung in is Tadjik. However, carriers of this classical art became Tadjiks, Uzbeks and Bukharian Jews. As cycle - giant Shashmakom includes 252 pieces of music. Six cycle's volumes are incorporated together according to uniform principal tunes and rhythmic (rhythmical) organizations Usul. The Reason of division of a vocal part on two, that each group is based on various principles of cyclic formation (education).

Rhythmic system USUL is borrowed in many respects of system east poetry - ARUZ.

NAMUD - Represents melody tunes system in SHASHMAKOM. It some kind of characteristic melodies used in the culmination's (audj) vocal SHOBA.
